Where does all the JW money go?
by LouBelle ini want to know.. does every kingdom hall, bethel and assembly hall belong to the watchtower, bible & tract society?.
each of those kingdom halls, bethels etc are built with the money obtained by that country's contributions.
if a loan is needed the bothers of that specific congregation pay off the loan.. the society has then an extremely huge amount of property worth billions of $$$$ who has control of all those funds?

For NeverKnew: How to Crash a meeting
by perfect1 inin the chilling experience thread never knew asks a few questions about attending a meeting.. i thought i would dedicate a thread to answering this question- because my knowledge is a little outdated, please join in!.
1. you will be scrutinized for your appearance.
as a woman you are expected to wear a below knee length skirt or dress.

Left in the Cold
From the prospective of a woman, when I enter a kh I feel like a second class citizen. Behind the brothers, I mean. I dress somewhat provocatively (to the best of my ability by JW standards) because I know that's really all I have there. Looks. And if I can't be as important as the men, then I'm going to use the only thing(s) I have that they don't. Immature? Probably. But it helps me hold my head up a little higher when I'm there.

Left in the Cold
My ex lived in the Bossert for a year. He would tell me how beautiful it was. I guess it's something to see!
Btw, I talked to him yesterday and he said he is done with the 'Truth'. I told him about this site and Crissis of Conscience book. He did not feel this way when we were together. Said he's tired of living his life afraid. I'm glad for him.

Did you feel guilty for not pioneering?
by brokethechain ini started pioneering the month i finished high school, and never stopped until i awakened, 17 years later.
it seems like the entire time, there was so much emphasis on pioneering.
every field service meeting seemed to have a part that communicated the message that jehovah would zap us at the big a. or people would die because of us if we didn't have extenuating circumstances (i always translated as bad health or kids, but even then, there were always "examples" of the mom with 5 kids that was pioneering).

been a while since i did something this retarded but it did feel good and natural at the time.
i went to bestbuy for a new phone and decided i dont want to talk with anyone right now anyway.

Left in the Cold
I threw things when I was younger (early 20's) but I did really well until January of this year. My ex-husband and I were fighting and I threw this hideous piece of art glass that he bought. I tossed it like a frisbee. It tore holes in the wall and shattered in a million pieces. I assured the police that, had I been throwing it to harm him, I would have succeeded and that I can dispose of my property in my house as I see fit. But after I threw it, I remember thinking that the only thing that changes with time are the objects we throw. I went from coffee cups to art glass inside of a decade. Not bad.
I haven't thrown anything else this year.

Left in the Cold
My stepfather saw the end of the Korean Conflict and did 2 tours in Vietnam. On one of those tours he was a gunner in a helicopter. He was brave and received the Bronze Star among many other awards. He was a Marine. But he says he doesn't like it when men say to him they feel guilty for not joining back then. He holds no bitterness toward men who didn't enlist. He is bitter about how he was treated upon his return to America. If he has animosity, it's toward those people, not men who didn't enlist.
I hope that helps a little, Glander.
